I have to make a HUGE shout out to a fabulous conference. It works on so many levels. First, on the presenter side, you create a video (on YOUR time schedule) and post it. The conference releases the video on a specific day, the online “attendees” view the video on THEIR time schedule.
The conference has been going on for many years and I believe it was the FIRST to be a Flipped Classroom model. Many of the videos take HOURS to produce and are created by educators that are passionate about what they do. They come from a diverse background of education as well as places.
It was one of the first conferences that allowed me to be me and create innovative materials. It pushed me toward excellence and to dream about what COULD be.
SO, check it out, sign up to present, take a risk and push yourself like you push your students!
The Call for Proposals is here, due July 31, 2013.
Here are some of the past years videos that I created:
2011: Level Up: Keynote
Students discuss the process how they create using their passions as the starting point.
2010:Let Me Tell MY Story
Students tall about their creative side and how they tell stories in creating musical media files.
Carol Vrotny, another music teacher and I, talk about the composition process in our classrooms.
