I just completed the first week of school. I love starting projects right off the bat. The students are eager to work in the lab. The new fourth graders are learning the “Sunset Ridge Fight Song” and how the lab works with the headsets and call-in buttons. The Fifth graders are reviewing the song, along with the “Star Spangled Banner.” The sixth graders started their “story” project. They write stories, with sound effects. Students take pictures around the school or draw flash cartoons. Some other students are experimenting with the new recording devices: iPod and digital recorder. The seventh grade mixed media class will also do the “story” project. The debate class has started their research on their debates. Finally, fourth and fifth grade open house was Thursday night, with a great success. It was exciting to meet the new fourth grade parents.
