Social Networking – a must in today’s world

I do not have time to learn all the cool things on the web. I need others to find those neat things, interesting websites, and networking is the key to my success. I have presented at many technology and music conferences – Let’s Communicate. I am going one step further, “Let’s Network.”

Four networking sites you should have:

Del.icio.us – all your bookmarks online

Diigo – bookmarks, groups, and much more. YES, you can set it up so you only post once and it automatically posts to del.icio.us with the tags.

Ning groups  – Classroom 2.0 and musictechieteachers

I just got my diigo account and would not have even known about this new network if it wasn’t for my twitter. The twitter was all a blaze for the past month about this new socialnetworking. I also have  facebook, for my high school students, and youtube for fellow teachers.

  1. Hi Carol,

This is the first I’ve heard of Diigo, but I do enjoy using Delicious bookmarks. There is a good discussion going on about the pros and cons of social networking in education on James Frankel’s blog. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the subject. 🙂

  2. I agree! I love my Twitter network and find myself engrossed in all the fabulous new tools we share with each other. I also love del.icio.us but have yet to embrace Diigo. Have you joined our del.icio.us Twitter_EdTech network yet? Here’s how it works! It’s very cool. I subscribe to it via RSS, so when someone updates their links, I get notification and just another way I find great new stuff every day. I’m addicted!
