Teaser for the k12online conference – T3: Triple Threat in Tech: Art, Music, and Media

On a daily basis I get requests for people where to find non-copyright music OR common domain pictures. It is becoming more and more important we empower ourselves to compose music, create our own artwork, and then create our own movies.

I will be presenting this at the k12online conference this year. I will offer composing tips, easy drawing pointers, and simple media editing. The video will go live the week of October 28, 2013. There are amazing presenters this year and take to time to take part in this incredible online conference.

Smore – Fall Newsletter

I am always looking for new ways to communicate and to share. Through my PLN, someone posted their smore.com poster. I could see the possibilities for putting all my announcements on ONE page.

When people wanted to know about upcoming conference and other important events, I would publish a quarterly newsletter. Smore.com is a free site, of course you can upgrade to more backgrounds and other features, but the free version is simply fabulous. I love the embed feature and ways to share out. Give it a try!

Make Your Mark – International Dot Day

CBroos_Dot_13I love the book – The Dot, by Peter Reynolds. Every year on September 15, he runs the “International Dot Day,” making your mark. I recently have been focused on drawing, this seemed appropriate that I would join in and create my mark.

I created it in Sketchbook Pro X on the iPad, while I was commuting to work. I have over an hour commute, so I create, draw, compose, and read while I am held captive on the train. It’s a great way to be connected to art and music.
